Adventure with a story

Your interests. Your pace. Your adventure. Discover Vestmannaeyjar with an ATV experience designed especially for you.

Every visitor to Vestmannaeyjar is different, and sometimes the most memorable adventures are the ones created around your own interests.

At Volcano ATV, we believe that exploring our extraordinary island should be as unique as the people visiting it. That's why we offer customized ATV experiences for individuals, families, friends, businesses and private groups who want something beyond our regular scheduled tours.

Whether you're looking for an exciting off-road adventure, spectacular photography opportunities, fascinating local history or a completely unique experience, we'll work with you to create an adventure that suits your wishes.

With flexible itineraries, experienced and friendly guides, and the incredible landscapes of Vestmannaeyjar as your playground, the possibilities are extraordinary.

Nature, Wildlife & Hidden Gems

Vestmannaeyjar is a place where nature never stops surprising.

Explore dramatic volcanic landscapes, discover secluded viewpoints and experience parts of the island that many visitors never get the chance to see.

Depending on the season and conditions, we can tailor your adventure around the island's remarkable wildlife, geological wonders or spectacular scenery.

For wildlife enthusiasts, a visit during puffin season can be an unforgettable experience. And during the late summer, we may be able to arrange a special puffling rescue experience, offering a fascinating insight into one of Vestmannaeyjar's most cherished local traditions.

For those visiting during the darker months, a customized Northern Lights adventure may offer the opportunity to explore the island's volcanic landscape beneath the Arctic night sky, away from the brightest town lights.

Whatever your interests, we'll help you discover a different side of Vestmannaeyjar.

Private Adventures for Families, Friends & Groups

Some adventures are simply better when shared.

Whether you're celebrating a birthday, organizing a family gathering, planning a company outing or bringing a group of friends together, our customized tours offer a fantastic way to experience Vestmannaeyjar.

With a fleet of 14 ATVs, we can arrange guided experiences for groups of up to 30 participants, depending on the riding arrangements.

Choose a shorter adventure, extend your time exploring the island or combine different highlights to create an experience that works for your group.

Our team can help coordinate the route, timing and activities to make the most of your visit.

From relaxed scenic experiences to more adventurous off-road riding, we'll help create an outing that everyone can enjoy.

Photography, Volcanoes & Special Interests

Looking for something a little different?

Vestmannaeyjar is a photographer's dream, with towering sea cliffs, volcanic formations, colourful wildlife and spectacular views across the Atlantic Ocean.

A customized photography tour gives you the opportunity to focus on the scenery and locations that interest you most, with additional time for photographs at selected viewpoints.

For guests fascinated by geology and history, we can create an adventure focused on the 1973 eruption of Eldfell, the island's extraordinary volcanic landscape and the remarkable stories of the people who experienced these events.

Perhaps you're interested in maritime history, the island's wildlife or simply discovering some of our favourite places away from the usual sightseeing routes.

Tell us what inspires you, and we'll help shape the experience around it.

Your Tour. Your Schedule. Your Experience.

One of the greatest advantages of a customized tour is flexibility.

Unlike our regular scheduled experiences, a private tour allows us to discuss the duration, departure time and itinerary according to your interests and availability.

Want to spend more time exploring the lava fields? Focus on coastal viewpoints? Arrange a special group adventure? Or combine several different experiences into one memorable outing?

We'll work with you to create a plan that makes the most of your time in Vestmannaeyjar.

Our automatic ATVs are easy to operate, and no previous ATV experience is required. Before departure, our experienced and friendly guides provide the necessary equipment, safety briefing and driving instructions.

All customized experiences are subject to weather, seasonal conditions, safety considerations and availability.
